TransAction Solutions wins the IBM Innovative Multi-OS deployment on iSeries Award
TransAction Solutions (TAS) received the award in recognition of their successful implementation of a strategic Server Consolidation using iSeries for Linux, AIX and Windows.
TAS was nominated, among over 100 businesses, for being one of the strongest global reference sites delivering multiple Operating System Consolidation on the System i5, moving from 72 processors down to 10.
TAS embraced the IBM System i5 strategy when, after a period of solid growth, the infrastructure had ballooned from around 50 servers to 150 servers.
Risk management issues as well as soaring maintenance, software and staff costs needed to be addressed. Within the complex TAS operating environment the Series i5 strategy came as the answer to develop a homogeneous, single platform approach to the infrastructure and to reduce training and HR overheads.
