- Cold - Data centre floor on which a customer can place their own equipment in the event of a disaster;
- Warm - Shared infrastructure whereby a customer subscribes to a leveraged system or environment; or
- Hot - Live or mirrored data on a fully dedicated system that can be fully managed, or managed by the client, but linked to their production environment.
Many companies however do not maximise the capital investment made in DR strategies. One way of doing this is using the deployed DR infrastructure to provide continuous client service during maintenance or scheduled service activities.
