The protection of private and confidential information is fundamental to the business of TransAction Solutions Pty Limited (ACN 084 571 040) (TAS).
TAS is committed to safeguarding personal information it holds on behalf of our customers and is committed to do so in accordance with the requirements of the National Privacy Principles (NPP's) of the Privacy Act 1988. This statement sets out TAS' policy relating to the collection, storage, access and use of personal information.
TAS provides services and software to various organisations such as Credit Unions. We allow our clients to process transactions between them and their customers and to warehouse some client's electronic storage facilities on our site.
As a consequence, TAS does not directly collect personal information of individuals, rather TAS holds personal information collected by its clients, as a consequence of the provision of software and services to TAS' clients. Generally any personal information that TAS holds is not its property and is subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
TAS does not collect personal information for its own use.
The personal information stored on TAS' computer systems includes details which can be used to identify individuals, including their name and address. Also stored are financial details such as transaction history and credit history.
TAS will only access personal information, when requested to by a client, in order to resolve computer processing issues that relate to account details. Accordingly to contractual arrangements that TAS has with its clients, access to personal information is strictly controlled and monitored by our clients.
In addition, all TAS employees are required, as a condition of employment, to treat personal information stored or on the TAS systems, as confidential.
TAS does not hold or store information about individuals in a manner which can identify an individual from the other information TAS processes for its clients. As a consequence it is not possible for TAS to retrieve information about a particular individual from all the information it may process on any given day.
If you would like further information about the information that TAS may hold from its clients, you will need to contact the organisation that collected your personal information. If we receive any request about any personal information held by us on behalf of a client, we will refer that request to the client, who may better respond to that request, including correcting any information that is held.
TAS is not required in the course of its business to disclose personal information to any outside parties during the normal course of its business. The personal information that TAS holds, it hold on behalf of its clients and so TAS' client will have that information or that information will be made available to TAS' clients.
TAS may however, in order to provide the best possible service to its clients from time to time, need to provide personal information to a third party in order to repair or maintain TAS software and services. That information will be disclosed only in a confidential basis and solely for the purpose of repairing or maintaining TAS software and services.
Additionally as you will appreciate, in certain circumstances TAS may be compelled by law to disclose personal information to various authorities. For example, TAS may be required under the Financial Transactions Reports Act to disclose details of financial transactions and we may also be compelled under tax laws to provide such information.
Finally, TAS does not sell, rent or trade personal information to or with third parties that is stored on our computers.
TAS takes reasonable steps to protect any information that it holds from misuse and loss. We also protect that information from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Only persons and organisations authorised by a clients can access personal information held on behalf of a client. TAS further protects information by virtue of non-disclosure agreements executed by all staff members under the terms specified in the TAS Employee Manual.
We maintain physical security, such as locks and security systems, over our electronic data stores and premises. We also maintain computer and network security, for example firewalls (security measures for the Internet), and other security measures, such as identification codes and passwords, to control access to computer systems.
The Internet has rapidly changed the way our clients do business, allowing our clients to provide services to you from the convenience of your home or office. TAS continually maintains and monitors online security systems to ensure information is appropriately protected.
At the moment, TAS does not collect personal information from its website. Our website contains links to other websites, for your convenience and information. When you access a website other than www.tasol.com.au, please understand that TAS is not responsible for the privacy practices of that site.
